No Mechanism for Giving Back to the Fans
Nowadays, the voluntary activities of fans are an important factor not only for the creator economy but also the success/growth of the creators. The “two-way interaction between creators and fans,” such as subscribing to YouTube channels and following SNS (e.g. Instagram) with commenting/sharing, has continued to grow in numbers. In many cases, these interactions themselves have become catalysts for creators to grow and generate movements.
Although fans are recognized as important players, the lack of a mechanism to return benefits to the fans remains a major challenge for the creator economy.
